🕹️ Retro Quest – Early Development Build Now Live!
Hey everyone!
We’re excited to share the first playable build of Retro Quest! This is an early development version featuring Level 1, and while it’s still rough around the edges, we’d love your help testing it and shaping its future.
🎮 What’s Playable
In this build, you can explore the first level and try out some core mechanics. Here's what to test:
- Movement Controls
WAD
– Move forward and side-to-side- Space bar – Jump
- Game-play Mechanics
- Try jumping into the water—does the player die as expected?
- When you die, the game should reset to the starting location.
- The timer should also reset when you respawn.
- Jump on TNT boxes—do you bounce into the air and trigger the timer?
⚠️ Heads-Up: Work in Progress
This is a development build, so some features are still under construction:
- Portals are not functional yet
- No start menu (you’ll jump straight into game play)
- Status messages appear along the side of the screen
- Coins can be collected, but there’s no counter yet
- No health bar implemented
- Enemy AI moves but doesn’t attack
- The back button doesn’t work and will be removed—use the mouse to turn around instead
- Volume settings are coming soon—please be cautious if using headphones
